Privacy Policy

Summary

This extension changes the visual appearance of Pinterest, saves your extension preferences locally, and lets you use local features such as the Vault and downloads. Your data stays on your device unless you personally export, download, or move it elsewhere.

This is not a company, data broker, analytics platform, or anything pretending to be one. It is just a browser extension made because the other " Pinterest Dark Theme " extensions either just suck or not updated and i was sick of it.

• I do not collect personal information. There are no accounts, tracking IDs, analytics scripts, telemetry systems, or external logging services. Unlike some giant corps I won't collect a single byte lmao. I hate that.
• I do not store your data on my servers. The extension has no remote database or cloud storage controlled by me or any other 3rd party.
• I do not sell or share data. Since I do not collect data, there is nothing for me to sell, rent, trade, or provide to third parties.
• Background activity is not used for data collection. The extension does not run a background collector and does not secretly upload browsing activity.

Local Data

The extension may save settings and feature data inside your browser's local extension storage. This can include theme choices, UI preferences, Vault entries, plugin-related settings, and other options you enable inside the extension.

This local data is used only to make the extension work on your device. Removing the extension or clearing its browser storage may delete this local data.

Why Permissions Are Used

The extension requests the following permissions exactly as they appear in the extension manifest. The Pinterest and Pinimg entries are host permissions. Each permission is used only for local extension functionality and not for collecting, storing, selling, or transmitting personal data.

Browser Permission Warnings

Browsers such as Chrome, Brave, and Firefox may show broad warning text for extension permissions. These warnings describe the maximum technical access a permission could allow, not what Pinterest AMOLED Theme collects or uploads.

• "Read and change your data on all pinterest.com, pinimg.com, and i.pinimg.com sites" appears because of the host permissions. The extension needs this access to apply styles and run its Pinterest-specific features on those sites. It is not used to collect, sell, or transmit browsing data.
• "Manage your downloads" appears because of the downloads permission. The extension uses it only when you choose to download content through extension features.
• "Manage your apps, extensions, and themes" appears because of the management permission. The extension uses it for optional plugin support and local extension checks. It is not used to control unrelated extensions or collect information about you.
• Browsing history access is not requested. Pinterest AMOLED Theme does not request the history permission and does not read your full browser history. Host permissions only allow the extension to work on the listed Pinterest and Pinimg sites.

Third Parties

The extension does not include third-party analytics, advertising trackers, or remote tracking scripts. Pinterest itself is a separate service with its own privacy practices. This policy only covers Pinterest AMOLED Theme.

Donations

I receive absolutely nothing from this project except optional donation support. That support is basically 5 bucks, and after fees the net is around 3 bucks, lmao.

Donations are not connected to extension tracking, accounts, analytics, or user data. If you choose to donate, any payment details are handled by the donation/payment platform, not by Pinterest AMOLED Theme.

Policy Changes

This no-collection privacy policy has applied since the extension's release. I do not collect your data, and I am not planning to start copying the data hungry behavior people already get from bigger platforms. If this policy changes in the future, the updated version will be published with a new effective date before i publish any update on the extension.
